The present article investigates the dramatic constitution of the finite spirit in the world, in the testimony of the unitive encounter with the Infinite Spirit, as expressed in the second Writing John of the Cross’ Flame of Living Love. The analysis of the expressions relative to the hypothesis paradoxically reveals the infinite capacity of the finite spirit to be transformed by the Infinite Spirit. This transcendent openness underlies the most authentic personal fulfillment of the finite being, operated by divine love, in the drama of mystical transformation: a being liberated for Trinitarian communion.
