CONTRIBUIÇÕES DE LIBANIO PARA A REFUNDAÇÃO DAS CEBS

Resumo

Este artigo mostra a leitura teológica que Pe. Libanio fez de três Encontros Intereclesiais das CEBs. Em sua análise aparece um novo rosto de Igreja formada por comunidades integradas por cristãos e cristãs que unem fé e vida no cotidiano de sua existência. A visão do teólogo é otimista e realista ao mesmo tempo. As CEBs constituem uma fecunda experiência eclesial que se embasa na fé em Deus e no seu Cristo e se articula com as várias dimensões da vida do povo. Mas tal experiência é frágil, pois enfrenta muitos obstáculos e não tem a garantia institucional da “grande Igreja”. A leitura do teólogo recolhe relatos vivos da história da vida e das lutas de comunidades tanto urbanas quanto rurais. O texto, portanto, constitui um testemunho da contribuição de Libanio para a vida da Igreja no Brasil, especialmente para a “refundação” das CEBs no tempo atual. Sua lúcida posição diante desse “tempo novo” se afirma na tese: que “ser-Igreja supõe ser-Povo”. Isso significa que os “queridos de Deus” se tornam sujeitos na vida eclesial e têm muito a dizer aos que vivem em outro lugar, mesmo sendo parte do corpo eclesial, e na sociedade.

ABSTRACT: This article shows the theological reading that Fr. Libanio made of three Inter-ecclesial Meetings of the CEBs. In his analysis there appears a new face of the Church formed by integrated communities of male and female Christians who join faith and life in the everyday living experience. The vision of the theologian is optimistic and realistic at the same time. The CEBs constitute a fruitful ecclesial experience that is based on faith in God and his Christ that is articulated with the various dimensions of people's lives. But such an experience is fragile, because it faces many obstacles and lacks the institutional guarantee of the “great Church”. The reading of the theologian collects live reports of the history of the life and the struggles of both urban and rural communities. The text constitutes, therefore a testimony of the contribution of Libanio for the life of the Church in Brazil, especially for the “refoundation” of the CEBs in the current time. His lucid position in view of this “new time” is affirmed in the thesis: that “being-Church supposes being-People”. This means that the “beloved of God” become subjects in the ecclesial life and they have a lot to say to those who live elsewhere, even though being part of the ecclesial body, and in the society.
