CONTRADIÇÃO E DIALÉTICA: UM ESTUDO SOBRE O MÉTODO DIALÉTICO EM PLATÃO

Abstract

O presente artigo visa elucidar o modo como Platão trabalha a relação dos opostos em suas obras escritas. Através da análise do método dialético, o autor mostra a necessidade de repensar a visão clássica de um Platão dualista. Os diálogos revelam uma tendência progressiva de superação da dicotomia entre mundo das formas e mundo sensível, que vem acompanhada de um tratamento renovado das oposições. Conceitos centrais da ontologia platônica - como o uno e o múltiplo deixam de ser considerados opostos excludentes, e passam a ser vistos como correlativos nas obras da maturidade. O diálogo Parmênides seria o início de uma nova ontologia, que atingiria seu ápice no Filebo.

Abstract: This paper tries to elucidate how Plato works the relation of opposites in his written works. By analising the dialectic method, the Author shows the need of rethinking the classic vision of a dualist Plato. The dialogues reveal a progressive tendency of superation of the dicotomy between the world of fonns and the sensitive world, accompanied by a renewed Treatment of oppositions. Central concepts of the platonic ontology - like single and multiple - are not considered anymore excludent opposites, and begin to be seen as correlates in the works of maturity. The dialog Parmenides would be the beginning of a new ontology, which would come to its summit in Filebo.
