O texto propõe uma reflexão, na perspectiva da filosofia política, sobre dois tópicos da Encíclica de João Paulo 11,Sollicitudo Rei Socialis. O tema da pobreza como problema moral e político, bem como o tema da solidariedade internacional como exigência ética, dão testemunho da atualidade e do ensinamento social da Igreja Católica e da sua fecundidade para a compreensão da tarefa eminentemente libertadora da ação política.
Abstract: Reflecting in a perspective of political philosophy, the paper deaIs with two topics of the Encyclic Sollicitudo Rei Socialis of John Paul 11.The topic of poverty as a ethic and politic problem, as well as the topic of international solidarity like ethic request show the actuality of the social teaching of the Catholic Church and its fecundity to understand the assignment of liberation due to politic engagement.
