Abstract

Michel Foucault challenges any attempt to be reduced to simplistic definitions. Commemorating the 40th anniversary of his death cannot be merely a static presentation of his life and work. It is imperative to highlight his philosophical thought’s vigor and internal dynamism. Foucault’s philosophy is a sincere invitation addressed to all of us to engage in true thought experience, to turn inwardly and critically reflect on the forms of power through which we have been and are constituted, seeking the possibility to imagine new ways of being and relating to the world. Building upon impressions of Foucault’s legacy, we present some interpretations of his philosophy intending to emphasize the beauty and importance of that thought experience which generates new interpretations and ensures the vital relevance of philosophy.

Keywords: Michel Foucault. Genealogical Method. Power Analytics. Philosophical Experience.
