This article will be organized in three parts. In the first part, we pro- pose a problem grounded in the Critical Theory in a manner with which will be possible to push the boundaries of its traditional limitations as a method to adequately include authors that are not usual contributors of the fi eld. Within this interdisciplinary approach it will be found a connection with the fi eld of Psychoanalysis. The second part will address a few troublesome characteristics of this connection through the studies of Wilhelm Reich as an exemplar attempt to put together a freudian-marxist conception. The third and last part, will be used to formulate a proposal in order to polarize the two traditions of thinking as an insurance to preserve their critical capacities.
Keywords: Critical Theory. Marxism. Psychoanalysis. Humanism. Naturalism. Instinct/Drive. Emancipation.
