The debates that took place on the «Pachamama» and the relationship between Christianity and the spiritualities of «Mother Earth», during the last Synod on the Amazon, can only be enlightened by reconnecting Revelation and what tradition has called “the book of creation”, or “natural religions”. S. Weil, faced with the crisis of modern rationalism, saw the need to renew the dialogue between myth and reason, creation and revelation. For that reason, her thought is precious to us, because at that time, and still today, the most threatening idolatrous tendency is no longer that which inhabited ancient «paganism», but that of these new idols that are the economic, techno-scientific and contemporary political powers, «Logos» and «Muthos» are thus to be seen, less as branches of a dilemma than as two principles that the Incarnate Word unites and transcends both in the mystery of the Incarnation.
