Rethinking the human condition, more specifically human work, permeated the life and work of Simone Weil, a great French intellectual of the century XX. Important moment in the century XXI to resume what Albert Camus said in 1949, after the Second War: “It seems impossible to imagine a rebirth for Europe that does not take into account the demands defined by Simone Weil”. The objective of this research is to present Simone Weil’s understanding of the ‘work mystique’ and identify elements that contribute to the reflection on the condition of work today. For the development of this study, important texts by the author are used, such as The gravity and grace (1947) and Working condition (1951). As a result, we highlight the new method that is proposed by Simone Weil to combine work and contemplation for a spirituality of work.
