O artigo repropõe o tema da liberdade em L'être et le néant tal qual ele foi apresentado pelo próprio Sartre em sua obra-prima, ou seja, no primeiro capítulo da quarta parte do livro. Analisando esse capítulo da obra sartriana, procura-se realçar os principais elementos da concepção de liberdade segundo as pretensões do existencialismo de Sartre. De tal análise emergem problemas – como o niilismo e ateísmo – que a reflexão sartriana tem a apresentar ao hoje filosófico, em particular ao filosofar cristão.
Abstract: The article returns to the theme of freedom in L'être et le néant, as it was introduced by Sartre, in the first chapter of the fourth part of his masterpiece. In analysing the chapter, the article emphasizes the principal elements of the conception of freedom according to the claims of Sartre's existentialism. Some Sartrian issues that emerge from this analysis, such as nihilism and atheism, are still very present in today's Philosophy and especially in Christian Philosophy.
