O CONFLITO DAS LIBERDADES: SANTO AGOSTINHO

Abstract

O artigo trata da questão da liberdade política no pensamento de Santo Agostinho. Tentamos demonstrar que a descoberta do livre-arbítrio abriu novos horizontes para a reflexão sobre alguns problemas fundamentais da filosofia política clássica.

Summary: This article deals with the problem of political liberty in the thougth of St. Augustine. We try to demonstrate that the discovery of "free will" opens a new horizon to the reflexion about some important problems of classical political philosophy.
