MÍSTICA E POLÍTICA: A EXPERIÊNCIA MÍSTICA NA TRADIÇÃO OCIDENTAL

Nessa comunicação, apresentada a um Seminário sobre Mística e Política (promovido pelo Centro João XXIII-IBRADES e pelo Fórum de Ciência e Cultura da UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro, outubro 19921, o A. estuda a história da experiência mística e das suas formas na tradição ocidental e seu destino no mundo moderno, Ã luz das relações entre Mística e Filosofia e Mística e Política. O texto consta de uma introdução; duas partes: a) fundamentos antropológicos da experiência mística, e b) formas principais da experiência mística: mística especulativa, mística mistérica e mística profética na tradição ocidental; e uma conclusão na qual se retoma o problema das relações entre Mística e modernidade.
Summary: In this address presented to a seminar on Mysticism and Politics (Rio de Janeiro, Oct. 92), the A. studies the history of mystical experience and its forms in Western Tradition and its future in the modem world, against the background of the relationship between mysticism and philosophy, and mysticism and politics. The text consists of an introduction, two sections a) the anthropoiogical foundations of mystical experience and b) the principle forms of mystical experience in the western tradition ”” speculative mysticism, mystery misticism, and prophetic mysticism ”” and a conclusion in which the problem of the relationship between mysticism and modernity is taken up again.
