DESCARTES: "IDEALISTA EMPÍRICO E REALISTA TRANSCENDENTAL"?

Resumo

Kant no IVº Paralogismo da Crítica da Razão Pura [A] parece afirmar que: a conjunção das seguintes teses: [i] de que só as representações (ou os estados de consciência) são imediatamente percebidas, [ii] de que os objetos externos são as coisas em si e [iiil de que as representações das coisas são o efeito das próprias coisas, que são a sua causa, e que a conjunção dessas três teses conduz à dúvida sobre a existência de objetos "fora de nós". Criticando o realismo empírico e o realismo transcendental no IVº Paralogismo, Kant parece pôr também em questão a filosofia primeira cartesiana. Com efeito, qualquer uma dessas teses poderia ser considerada como uma tese cartesiana. O objetivo deste artigo é o de reconstruir a crítica de Kant, expressa no IV· Paralogismo da CRP [A], aos princípios cartesianos, analisando em primeiro lugar o paralogismo, em seguida, a sua solução e, finalmente, avaliando, do ponto de vista cartesiano, as críticas e as soluções kantianas.

Abstract: In the IVth. Paralogism of the Critique of Pure Reason [A] Kant claims that the conjunction of the following theses: [i] that only the representations (or the states of consciousness) are immediately perceived, [ii] that the outer objects are things-in-themselves and [iii] that the representations of things are the effects of things, which are their causes, leads to the doubt over the existence of objects "outsiâe us" . While criticizing empirical realism and transcendental realism in the IVth Paralogism, Kant seems to question Cartesian first philosophy as well. Indeed, all these three theses could be taken as Cartesian thesis. The purpose of this article is to reconstruct Kant's criticisms to the Cartesian principles, as expressed in the IVth Paralogism of CPR [AI, analyzing, first the paralogism itself, then its solution and, finaly, evaluating Kant's criticisms and solutions from the Cartesian point of view.
