SUBJETIVIDADE E INFINITO: O DECLÍNIO DO COGITO E A DESCOBERTA DA ALTERIDADE

Resumo

O presente artigo analisa a idéia de Infinito como re-Ieitura que Lévinas faz do cogito cartesiano. A idéia de Infinito, na leitura filosófica de Lévinas, rompe a subjetividade fechada e revela-se como o fundamento da alteridade, e é capaz de, a partir do Outro, apontar o caminho da filosofia primeira: a ética. A ética se converte para Lévinas no tópos originário da verdade metafísica e na possibilidade de superação da totalidade e da violência.

Abstract: This paper analyses the idea of Infinite as a Lévinas' philosophical re-reading of the cartesian cogito. The idea of Infinite in Lévinas' philosophy explodes the closed subjectivity and manifests itself as the foundation of otherness and is able, through the Other, to aim at the First Philosophy: the Etics. The etics becomes for Lévinas the original tópos of the metaphysical truth and the possibility of rupture with the totality and violence.
