ASPECTOS DA INFLUÊNCIA DE WEININGER SOBRE WITTGENSTEIN

Resumo

No presente artigo, o autor argumenta que a filosofia tractatiana se torna ininteligível quando relacionada apenas aos trabalhos lógicos de Frege e Russell. Devemos também conectar o “Tractatus” pelo menos com algumas das obras de Schopenhauer, William James, Mauthner, Tolstoi e Weininger. Isto nos capacitará a encarar a filosofia tractatiana sob uma nova luz. Mas, no que diz respeito a Weininger, os resultados podem ser perturbadores. O objetivo do autor é verificar a possibilidade de atribuir algumas das teses “politicamente incorretas” de Weininger ao primeiro Wittgenstein. Os principais resultados obtidos revelam que a atitude ética do jovem Wittgenstein pode ser explicada por meio da ética de Weininger e que a ética tractatiana pode ser vista não apenas como compatível com a perspectiva weiningeriana, mas também como um desenvolvimento dela.

Abstract: In the current paper, the Author argues that the Tractarian philosophy becomes unintelligible when related only to the logic works of Frege and Russell. We must also connect the “Tractatus” at least with some of the works of Schopenhauer, William James, Mauthner, Tolstoi and Weininger. This will enable us to envisage the tractarian philosophy in a new light. But the results may be disturbing, as far as Weininger is concerned. The aim of the Author is to check the possibility of ascribing some of Weiniger's “politically incorrect” views to the early Wittgenstein. The main results obtained reveal that the young Wittgenstein's ethical attitude may be explained by Weininger's ethics, and that the tractarian ethics may be seen not only as cohering with, but also as developping, the Weiningerian views.
