O FILHO, OU SEJA, SOBRE O PAI SOBRE O DOM RECEBIDO

Resumo

O artigo se divide essencialmente em duas partes. Na primeira, sobretudo através das análises etimológicas de Benveniste e da interpretaçã crítica de Mauss desenvolvida por Derrida, examina-se a realção dom/troca no quadro mais amplo das leis econômicas. O que emerge neste primeiro nível é a configuração do dom como “mais além do dever”. Na segunda parte do trabalho, enfrenta-se a questão: onde e como é possível um encontro como tal “mais além”, e, portanto: como é possível uma experiência do dom? A tese do artigo é que o lugar por excelência de tal experiência é a relação pai-filho, sempre que, no  entanto, ela seja entendida no sentido originário, como excedente e como algo de outro com respeito à relação de geração: o pai/filho é sempre algo de outro que o gerador/ gerado, precisamente porque remete essencialmente a uma dinâmica de dom e a implica.

Abstract: The paper is essentially divided into two parts. In the first, the author examines the relation gift-exchange within the broader framework of the laws of economics. This is carried out especially via the etymological analysis of Benveniste and via the critical interpretation of Mauss as developed by Derrida. What emerges from this first level is the configuration of the gift as a ”˜beyond duty'. In the second part of the paper, the author deals the question: Where and how is it possible to have an encounter with such a ”˜beyond'? This entails the further question: how is it possible to have an experience of the gift? The working hypothesis isthat the locus par excellence of such an experience is the relation father-son, understood in the original sense of surplus and in the sense of a relation other than generation. The relation  father-son is always other than the relation generator-generated, precisely because the former reflects and essentially implies a dynamic of gift.
