MODERNIDADE E EVANGELIZAÇÃO UMA REFLEXÃO A PARTIR DA AMÉRICA LATINA

Resumo

Duas concepções da modernidade (M) são focalizadas: filosófico-sociológica, uma (M como ideologia burguesa), antropológico-cultural, a outra (M como cultura). Consideram*se suas respectivas conseqüências sobre o processo de evangelização na América Latina. A prioridade e desenvolvimento da perspectiva da libertação conota o primeiro enfoque. Já em relação a uma evangelização a um tempo inculturada e libertadora da cultura moderno-contemporânea (postulada pelo segundo enfoque), intuímos os desafios sem contudo conhecer ainda respostas adequadas.

Abstract: This article focuses on two conceptions of modernity (M): one of them is of a philosophical and sociological nature (M as bourgeois ideology); the second one is cultural anthropological in character (M as a culture). The consequences of each one upon the process of evangelization in Latin America have been considered. The first approach is linked to the priority of liberation in the last thirty years of theological reflexion and pastoral work. As for the second dimension we do experience the challenges put to the evangelization of modern-contemporary culture but we still don't know the adequate answers to them.
