ÉTICA POLÍTICA: URGÊNCIA E LIMITES
Resumo
O artigo lenta esclarecer a tarefa da Ética política no contexto da sociedade brasileira contemporânea. A luz da descrição de traços da vida política do país e de suas raízes histórico-culturais, o autor identifica o individualismo moderno como responsável pela crise do ethos político nacional. São examinadas, a seguir, duas propostas para a superação do impasse atual através da descoberta de uma nova base ética comum. A primeira, exemplificada no pensamento de R. Bellah, recorre à tradição religiosa como fonte de inspiração. A segunda, tipificada em J. Habermas, pretende basear a sociedade no consenso em tomo de uma ética racional. O autor julga as duas posições insatisfatórias, já que a experiência do sentido capaz de fundar a convivência social escapa ao controle do homem e só pode ser comunicada pela linguagem simbólico-narrativa.
Abstract: The slow article clarify the task of political ethics in contemporary Brazilian society. The light of the description of features of the country's political life and its historical and cultural roots, the author identifies the modern individualism as responsible for the national political ethos crisis. Are examined, then, two proposals to overcome the current impasse through the discovery of a new common ethical basis. The first, exemplified in the thought of R. Bellah, refers to the religious tradition as a source of inspiration. The second, typified in J. Habermas, want to base the company in consensus take a rational ethics. The author considers the two unsatisfactory positions, as the experience of meaning able to establish the social life escapes the control of man and can only be communicated by the symbolic and narrative language.
