Resumo

O objetivo principal do presente texto é tornar claro em que medida a Teoria Causal da Referência, desenvolvida por Hilary Putnam, afasta a possibilidade de que possamos a partir de puras considerações semânticas formular proposições necessárias acerca de objetos.

Abstract: The main concern of this article is to explain to what extent the Causal Theory of Reference, developed by Hilary Putnam, excludes the possibility of formulating necessary propositions about objects on the basis of pure semantical considerations.
