A HISTÓRIA COMO TESTEMUNHO

Resumo

A realidade humana se toma inteligível na medida em que os fatos que a integram são vistos e registrados. Deste modo o conhecimento histórico se desenvolve como uma espécie de visão daquela realidade, uma visão em que se conjugam a constatação e a interpretação. A historicidade das coisas humanas corresponde aos testemunhos que permanecem como algo disponível e que possibilitam a compreensão dos fatos, inclusive através da configuração do "passado". Esta configuração entretanto é sempre precária e fragmentária, dada a descontinuidade dos testemunhos, que são, por outro lado, passíveis de sucessivas reinterpretações.

Summary: Human reality becomes intelligibile in the measure that its component facts are object of some objective vision. Historical knowledge grows, in this manner, as a kind of vision, which, refering to that reality, includes description and interpretation. Historicity of human things is related to testimonies that remain as something disposable; through that testimonies is possible the compreension of the facts and the configuration of the "past". Such a configuration, however, is precarious and fragmentary, as a consequence of the discontinuity of testimonies, which, after all, can be object of sucessive reinterpretations.
