Este artigo pretende discutir algumas mutações importantes de um tema clássico da historiografia francesa: a realeza sagrada. Num primeiro momento são abordadas as diversas faces que essa eterna fênix assumiu no Ancien Regime. O desdobramento dessa análise enfoca as metamorfoses historiográficas verificadas no interior da temática ao longo do século XX, bem como as últimas tendências da pesquisa no domínio do Estado monárquico europeu. Procura-se demonstrar como um dos mais antigos lemas da história do Ocidente ressurge uma vez mais das cinzas levantadas pela curiosidade de uma História Política rejuvenescida.
Abstract: This article discusses some important changes in a classic theme of French historiography: the sacred kingship. At first addresses the many faces that eternal phoenix took the Ancien Regime. The unfolding of this analysis focuses on the metamorphoses historiographical analysis within the theme throughout the twentieth century, as well as the latest trends in research in the field of European monarchical state. Seek to demonstrate how one of the oldest slogans of Western history resurfaces again from the ashes raised by the curiosity of a history rejuvenated Policy.
