Capitalism has transcended its role as an economic system to become a global normative logic that shapes desires, relationships, and societal structures. This article presents a critical theological reflection on the impacts of capitalism, particularly its neoliberal form, and its consequences for human dignity, freedom, and happiness. Drawing on Pope Francis’ encyclical Fratelli Tutti, the article identifies fraternity, solidarity, and the common good as ethical, social, and spiritual alternatives to the prevailing system. Through historical, philosophical, and theological analysis, it highlights how the Christian vision can inspire structural transformation and a more humane economy. Rather than a utopian ideal, fraternity is proposed as a necessary path toward survival and authentic human development.
