DEMIURGIA E NECESSIDADE NO TIMEU DE PLATÃO

Resumo

Neste artigo, apresentamos uma proposta alternativa de leitura do papel do Demiurgo e do princípio material do cosmos – tal como tratados no diálogo Timeu de Platão –, formulada a partir da adoção de parte significativa do instrumental hermenêutico oferecido pelo assim chamado “novo paradigma” interpretativo das obras do filósofo. Em especial, tentamos demonstrar em que medida as operações protológicas pensadas por Platão – ancoradas numa estrutura bipolar anunciada na tradição indireta de Platão (Uno e Díade Indeterminada) – podem se tornar valiosas chaves de compreensão tanto da natureza constitutiva e do modus operandi do Demiurgo quanto do princípio material sobre o qual ele imprime sua marca: a necessidade, receptáculo de tudo o que devém.

Abstract: This article introduces an alternative reading of the role of the Demiurge and of the material principle of the cosmos – as they appear in the Timaeus of Plato – using a significant part of the so-called “new interpretative paradigm” of the philosopher's dialogues. In particular, it seeks to demonstrate how the protological operations – supported by a bipolar structure, the existence of which is registered in the indirect tradition dedicated to the unwritten doctrines of Plato (the One and the Dyad) – shall become a valuable instrument to understand the constituent nature and modus operandi of the Demiurge, as well as the material principle on which he left his mark: the necessity, receptacle of everything that becomes.
