“FORMAS DE VIDA”: SIGNIFICADO E FUNÇÃO NO PENSAMENTO DE WITTGENSTEIN

Resumo

O artigo trata de um importante conceito na obra de Wittgenstein em sua fase posterior. Procura elucidar a noção de 'formas de vida' em sua função para a inteira concepção wittgensteiniana da linguagem e da filosofia. As formas de vida são relacionadas c om outro conceito central das Investigações Filosóficas: o de seguir uma regra. Procura-se mostrar como as formas de vida, ao constituírem a verdadeira base para o funcionamento da linguagem, de algum modo fazem parte desta última. Finalmente indica-se brevemente como esta concepção não só confere ao pensamento de Wittgenstein uma posição especial em face das diversas correntes filosóficas, mas também lhe dá um significado para outras áreas do conhecimento e da vida humana.

Abstract: The article is an important concept in Wittgenstein's work in its later stage. Seeks to elucidate the notion of 'forms of life' in its function for the entire Wittgenstein's conception of language and philosophy. The life forms are related ith another central concept of the Philosophical Investigations: to follow a rule. It will be shown as the forms of life, constitute the true basis for the functioning of language in any way form part of the latter. Finally it is stated briefly how this design not only gives the thought of Wittgenstein a special position in the face of many philosophical currents, but also gives it a meaning to other areas of knowledge and human life.
