SOBRE UMA INCOMPATIBILIDADE CONCEITUAI CONGÊNITA RELATIVA À CAUSALIDADE NO SISTEMA CARTESIANO

Resumo

Procura-se mostrar que o grupo formado pelos conceitos cartesianos de 'causa', 'substância criada', ”˜tempo' e 'criação' envolve uma incompatibilidade de difícil superarão. Argumenta-se lambiam que a origem da incompatibilidade esta na doutrina cartesiana da 'descontinuidade substancial'. Esta dificuldade está relacionada com duas interpretações alternativas do cartesianismo, a 'fraca' e a 'forte'. Procura-se mostrar, contudo, que ambas são incapazes de solucioná-la. Sugere-se também que os sucessores de Descartes, pelo lato de se inspirarem no mesmo quadro conceitual, tiveram de enfrentar dificuldades análogas.

Abstract: It will be shown that the group formed by the Cartesian concepts of 'cause', 'created substance', 'time' and 'creation' involves a mismatch difficult to overcome. It is argued that licked the origin of this incompatibility in the Cartesian doctrine of 'substantial disruption'. This difficulty is related to two alternative interpretations of Cartesianism, the 'weak' and 'strong'. It will be shown, however, that both are unable to solve it. It is also suggested that the successors of Descartes, by broad to be encouraged by the same conceptual framework, had to face similar difficulties.
