O HOMEM COMO REALIDADE EM CONSTRUÇÃO: O DINAMISMO ANTROPOLÓGICO EM SANTO AGOSTINHO

Resumo

Este artigo apresenta uma síntese da antropologia agostiniana, buscando apontar para reflexões desse autor que ainda provocam ressonâncias no mundo contemporâneo. Agostinho respondeu as questões universais do espírito humano, sobre sua natureza, origem e finalidade. Seu maior pilar foi a tradição judaico-cristã do homem criado à imagem e semelhança de Deus. Quem é o homem? Quais as suas potencialidades históricas? Qual o seu propósito? Essas questões se impõem sobre todo pensar. Tanto a ética quanto a valoração das realidades diversas dependem do estabelecimento de pressupostos. Sendo assim, demonstrando que a doutrina do Santo Doutor sustenta-se por um dinamismo fundamental, a análise dos textos leva a descobrir uma concepção de homem positiva e aberta ao futuro. Concepção que simultaneamente organiza e motiva o modo de vida presente, lançando as expectativas de novas transformações no futuro.

Abstract: This article presents a synthesis of the Augustinian anthropology, pointing to reflections of this author that still cause resonances in the contemporary world. Augustine replied the universal questions of the human spirit, about its nature, origin and finality. His greatest pillar was the Judeo-Christian tradition of man created in image and likeness of God. Who is man? What are his historical potentials? What is his aim? These questions stands over the whole thought. Both ethics and the valuation of different realities will depend on the establishment of assumptions. Thus, demonstrating that the doctrine of the Holy Doctor holds a fundamental dynamic, analysis of texts leads to discovering a positive and an open to the future conception of man. Conception that simultaneously organizes and motivates the present life, projecting new transforms expectations in the future.
